2011 BDX
Estate Reserve
The 2011 vintage BDX continues to be our most premium red blend, which honors the grapes and traditions of Bordeaux, France. Though the near perfect 2010 vintage was a tough act to follow, the 2011 vintage continues to show the best of what Heritage has to offer. The 2011 vintage is also a more “price friendly” option compared to the 2010 vintage. Selected lots of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec were aged 16 months in French oak barrels (60% new) and blended to create this rich and generous offering. Tasting notes: deep red-black robe; aromas of black currants, mocha toffee, toasted pistachios, graham cracker, allspice and munstead lavender; flavors of black cherry and currant jam, almond brittle and chocolate latté with hints of cedar shavings, baking spices and a subtle maritime briny character. This wine offers a deliciously expressive, multi-dimensional finish framed by richly perfumed toasty oak flavoring and ripe, mellow tannins.
Blend: 40% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Petit Verdot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec
Limited Production: 312 cases
